Jesse and I kicked off Tacos Olé a whopping 7 years ago this month! Talk about a wild ride. We decided to dive headfirst into marriage and entrepreneurship simultaneously, and let me tell you, it was a challenge like no other. But hey, we were up for it.

Seeds of Belief
One thing that really sticks with me from that time is the incredible people who came alongside us with their words of encouragement. Seriously, it made all the difference. In this blog, we are gonna dive deep into the power of uplifting words together to explore how they shape our lives, and why having a rock-solid circle of trust is an absolute must for any business owner.
Our wedding was on October 15th, and just five days later, we had our first gig. I have to be honest, it was pure chaos. But you know what? Our support circle was an absolute lifesaver. Our neighbors turned out to be the real MVPs. They became like family to us. It's funny because from the outside, you'd think we were an unlikely bunch of friends. Different backgrounds, races, ages, education levels—you name it. But somehow, it worked like magic. Our cul-de-sac was the place to be. They had our backs through thick and thin. We started multiple businesses, had babies left and right, and even celebrated a couple of other neighborhood weddings together. We shed tears, but we also laughed our hearts out. Their words of encouragement were like fuel for our self-belief. They gave us the confidence to aim for greatness and face any challenge with a positive mindset.
Cultivating Confidence
Oh, and let me tell you about my super-organized BFF, Jai. She was not just our wedding planner but also our very first employee. Talk about a rockstar! Our first gig was a total disaster, to be honest. Long lines, shortage of supplies, and a lack of quality control—ugh, you name it, we had it. But you know what Jai did? She stayed cool as a cucumber. She never wavered in her support and she boosted our confidence like no other. Confidence, my friend, is like sunshine for growing seeds. And those uplifting words from loved ones? They play a huge role in nurturing that confidence. When people genuinely believe in us and our abilities, it's like a shot of rocket fuel to our self-esteem. We feel empowered to take on any challenge and take risks fearlessly.
Let's face it, life throws curveballs at us, especially in the world of marriage and business. There are gonna be moments when we doubt ourselves, when we question our own abilities and potential. That's where the power of words kicks in. They become our lifeline, our oxygen. When our trusted circle showers us with sincere and loving words of encouragement, it's like planting seeds of hope. Those seeds have the potential to blossom into beautiful gardens of success and fulfillment. Trust me, the people you surround with in business will truly make a world of difference.
Pay it Forward
Before I forget, let me share something awesome that happened last month. I had the incredible opportunity to be the commencement speaker for the graduating fifth-grade class at Clinton Elementary School. It was a full circle moment for me. I pray my words hit home for our future leaders, just like my neighbor's and Jai's words did for me.
Life's a rollercoaster, and resilience is the name of the game. The words of encouragement we receive from our circle of trust act as a shield against adversity, offering us comfort and motivation when things get tough. Just like a well-placed seed can weather any storm, the positive words from our loved ones help us bounce back from setbacks.
